1. Changes are visible at once

   Version1.4.118. September 2026

   New

   • Billing yearly instead of monthly
   • Switching to a yearly invoice now happens inside MetronHR and no longer on an external page. Before you switch it states what is due today, how much is saved over the year and that twelve months run after that. The switch is billed at once, and a running discount is kept.
   • Submitting missing hours as a request
   • Until now only an existing entry could be put forward for a change. Now a completely missing entry can be requested too, for instance when nobody clocked at the terminal. The request takes the same route to approval as a change, and somebody who may not otherwise edit time tracking can still file it.

   Fixed

   • A change was only visible on other screens after a reload. Once an absence was entered, the home page, the calendar and the lists showed the old state for up to five minutes. They now show it at once, throughout the program.
   • A shortened time entry jumped back to its old length after switching to another page and back.
   • After editing a person's details, the file and the list stayed on the old state.
   • Settings sometimes showed the statutory defaults instead of your own values, and saving then overwrote your own values with them. Employee protection, time tracking and the reminders in the personal settings were affected.
   • A new time entry only carried the client's colour after a reload.
   • The profile picture did not appear in the personal settings.
   • The card for calendar access reported that no access existed although one was open.

   Improvement

   • The figures above the subscription data sit closer together.

2. On-site records, company holidays and premiums

   Version1.4.015. September 2026

   New

   • Service records signed at the client's site
   • Pick the job, check the hours, and the client signs on the screen. The record is filed as a readable document and can be passed on. In the app this works without a connection too: what was captured on site goes out as soon as the device is online again. If nobody is there to sign, exactly that is noted instead of inventing a signature.
   • Company holidays for everyone at once
   • If the business closes between Christmas and New Year, that is entered once and applies to everyone. The absences are created together, stay recognisable as company holidays and can be renamed or withdrawn again for individuals. Recurring closures are kept year by year, and the day the next one is created is yours to choose.
   • Premiums calculate themselves
   • Night, Sunday and public holiday hours are shown separately, with the premium amount beside them. The business sets the time windows and the rates, and the calculation runs to the minute across midnight. Anyone who used to recalculate by hand at the month end now simply reads the figures off.
   • MetronHR opens up to the outside
   • Under Company, Integrations you create your own access keys, targets for notifications to other systems and the release for AI assistants. Other programs can then read and write personal data and hours, and the target system is notified by itself when something changes. What a key may do is the business's decision, and every access is in the log.

   Improvement

   • The hours account speaks up for itself: when a balance reaches the amber or red level, the note with the level and the threshold sits in the account instead of only showing a colour.
   • Businesses outside Germany: country, public holiday calendar and region can be set, Austria and Switzerland are stored, and a business can run with no public holiday calendar at all. Hours run in the business's time zone and amounts in its currency.
   • Data import from spreadsheets: an assistant under every list reads CSV and Excel for eight kinds of object, shows the type and an example per column and says what does not fit before anything is taken over.
   • Exporting works the same everywhere: one button on every list, as CSV, Excel or a readable PDF.
   • The subscription page has been rebuilt: the end of the term, the next charge, the next amount and the cancellation status are now where you look for them.
   • See and end your own sessions: the user settings show which devices the account is signed in on, and each session can be ended individually. Staying signed in now lasts considerably longer.
   • Large workforces: the search for people, clients and services runs on the server, which makes lists load noticeably faster.
   • A failed charge is reported instead of quietly sitting there.
   • Time tracking terminal: maintenance access works without a network too, and the device turns the screen off completely after a second idle stage.
   • Try MetronHR without signing up: a sample business with filled-in data is ready at the push of a button and disappears by itself afterwards.

   Fixed

   • Flexible working time models were shown as a feature of the larger plan although they are included in the Team plan.
   • The import could create duplicate records and bypass the business's rules. Both are now checked before anything is taken over.

3. Setting terminals up safely

   Version1.3.228. August 2026

   Fixed

   • Self-setup of a terminal offered a setup code for an app version that was not stored on this server at all. Anyone who scanned it loaded nothing. The code now points to the version this server actually serves.
   • Limits on sign-in attempts and email sending applied jointly to the test and the production system. Activity on the test environment could therefore slow real users down. Both environments now count separately.

   Improvement

   • The self-setup instructions now mention the data protection notice Android shows at the end of the assistant, and say what to do if the ordinary home screen appears afterwards instead of the pairing code.

4. Clearer time figures

   Version1.3.128. August 2026

   Improvement

   • Hours are written the same way everywhere, as 8:30 h, with the unit right on the value. Balances carry their sign: +12:30 h is a credit, -1:45 h is a deficit.

   Fixed

   • The overtime tile in the dashboard showed +0:00 h on a level account and thereby claimed a credit. A level zero now stands without a sign.

5. Holiday, maternity protection and public holidays by the book

   Version1.3.028. August 2026

   New

   • Holiday that matches the contract
   • The annual entitlement is calculated separately for each part of the year. Anyone moving from five days a week to four mid-year keeps the holiday earned in the first half. Employees with a severe disability receive their additional holiday pro rata. Before it expires, a notice goes out in good time and is kept as evidence, and after a long illness the entitlement expires only after fifteen months.
   • Maternity protection and parental leave
   • The protection periods are determined from the due date and the actual birth: six weeks before, eight after, twelve for a premature birth, for multiple births and where a disability of the child has been established. If the child arrives early, the unused days move to the period afterwards. Employment bans affect the planning, and parental leave now exists as an absence type of its own.
   • Working on a public holiday and the substitute day of rest
   • Anyone working on a public holiday no longer gets a credit for a day that was not lost at all. How the business handles it can now be set, and the substitute day of rest under the Working Hours Act is tracked along with it. Existing balances are untouched until the setting is changed.
   • Keeping terminals in view
   • Every device has a detail view with its state, its last sign of life and its most recent events. Terminals can be removed from the list and a pairing can be undone; if that fails, the reason is stated. The device shows your own company's colour and logo. And instead of a fixed choice, any combination of app, web and terminal is possible as a permitted way of recording.

   Improvement

   • On leaving, a closing state is recorded: the holiday to be paid out and the hours account balance on the leaving date, frozen instead of recalculated later.
   • The planning checks the Young Persons Employment Act too: night rest, the five-day week and rest on Saturdays and Sundays. A maximum number of consecutive working days can also be set.
   • The hours account and the change requests are now available in the app as well.
   • The audit log shows the details for every row, and the terminals' events have a history of their own.
   • Your own logo appears in the application and on the terminal.
   • The dashboard fills the grid without gaps, including with layouts saved in earlier versions.
   • Moving between pages shows the layout at once instead of waiting for the data.
   • Entries shorter than a minute are discarded at the terminal instead of creating rework.
   • If the device's security check blocks every update, the administration points that out.

   Fixed

   • A half-day absence was credited twice. The daily target now stays intact.
   • A sick note during approved holiday releases the affected days again.
   • Unpaid absence is neither credited nor owed in the hours account.
   • When somebody is deactivated, no requests are left without an owner and no timer is left running.
   • The three switches in the public holiday settings now say what they actually do.
   • The tab bar above the lists no longer takes up a line of its own.

   Note

   • Anyone who previously allowed every way of recording now allows the app and the web. The terminal is released deliberately on its own.
   • A reserve duty period is suggested as an unpaid absence.

6. Recording attendance, with or without a terminal

   Version1.2.019. August 2026

   New

   • Hours without a client and a service
   • The time tracking settings can be switched to plain attendance. The timer and the entry form then stop asking for anything this business does not have, and the reports show only what can be calculated without an assignment. Existing entries keep their assignment, even after the switch.
   • Clocking in and out at the terminal
   • A terminal on the wall takes clock-ins and clock-outs by card. Those entries become recorded hours just like the timer's. Under Company and Terminals the devices are listed with their last sign of life, and an unknown card can be assigned to a person straight from the rejected attempt.
   • What is new, behind the version number
   • A click on the version at the bottom left shows what has been added in this version and in earlier ones. A dot on the number points to something new until it has been read.
   • Pairing two people for a day
   • In the day plan two people can be tied to each other for a day when they are meant to be scheduled together. The note about it sits in that person's lane.

   Improvement

   • Breaches of the working time rules are checked per day across all entries together. Two short entries on a long day therefore show up, even when neither is too long on its own.
   • The colours of the absence types are the same on every page, and the letters on them are readable on every colour. Previously the same holiday was coloured differently in the hours account than in the absence list.
   • Sign-in and registration have been reworked, and the two-factor messages now say what to do.
   • In the app the client picker shows the client number. Previously the same figure stood there as the contact person.

   Fixed

   • In the app a requested period of time off in lieu can be edited again. Until now saving ended in an error message.
   • Hours that flow into the app in the background deduct the statutory break just as the list does. Both routes now show the same net time.
   • Anyone copying entries in attendance mode gets the list of suggestions back.

7. The hours account calculates breaks in service correctly

   Version1.1.112. August 2026

   New

   • Earlier periods of employment in the hours account
   • The hours account lists every period in which somebody was employed. The months in between no longer count. Anyone who was away for a year and comes back therefore has no negative hours for it.

   Improvement

   • Colours that are no longer in the picker still look the way they did on older entries.
   • The phone app recognises whether duty planning is already set up and shows only the areas that exist there.

8. The day plan, employee protection and an assistant for getting started

   Version1.1.012. August 2026

   New

   • The day plan
   • A day as a grid, with time running either left to right or top to bottom. You drag assignments out directly in the grid, move them with the mouse and publish the whole day at the end. People can hand an assignment over, register for a free one and take it on. The printout is a clean PDF.
   • An assistant for the setup
   • Areas, activities, teams and staffing rules come about step by step. A staffing rule reads as a sentence with your choices dropped into it, rather than as a form with a dozen fields.
   • A warning when working time rules are broken
   • MetronHR checks rest periods, the maximum permitted working time and the breaks. Breaches appear in the plan before it is published.

   Improvement

   • On a phone the lists now show cards instead of narrow table columns.
   • People are picked the same way everywhere: with a search field, a profile picture and a note about who is unavailable.
   • On colours you pick yourself the text stays readable, whichever colour that is.
   • Anyone who wants hours recorded only at the terminal can switch the other routes off.
   • On narrow screens the calendar shows one day instead of the whole week.

   Fixed

   • Registration no longer allows an unlimited number of attempts in a short time.
   • Select fields are now read out correctly by screen readers.

The list starts with version 1.1.0. Older versions came out before these release notes were introduced and are therefore not listed.
