When Excel reaches its limits

When a break is missing, the system should speak up, not the supervisor.

MetronHR checks breaks under section 4 ArbZG, rest and maximum hours, while you plan in the Professional plan. People clock in in the browser at their desk or in the app, also when working from home.

Are screen breaks the same as rest breaks?

No. Screen work has to be interrupted regularly with other tasks or recovery time (annex no. 6.1 ArbStättV). These interruptions do not replace the rest breaks under section 4 ArbZG if work is done during them.

May a call centre work on Sundays?

Call centres are not among the exceptions in section 10 ArbZG. The Federal Administrative Court declared a Hessian state ordinance invalid on 26 November 2014 insofar as it permitted them (6 CN 1.13). Sunday duty needs an exception for the specific work or a permit from the supervisory authority (section 13 ArbZG).

Late shift until 10 pm, early shift from 7 am: is that allowed?

No, that is nine hours of rest instead of the eleven in section 5(1) ArbZG. Call centres have no statutory shortening. The template flags exactly this change in the example.
