Is the drive to the first customer working time?

For employees without a fixed or habitual place of work, yes: the drive from home to the first customer and from the last customer back home (CJEU, 10 September 2015, C-266/14). Pay can be governed separately by the contract.

Does a night emergency call interrupt the rest period?

According to the prevailing view, yes, the eleven hours start again after the call. With on-call duty, in principle only the call-out is working time; with a very short response time, all of the standby can be working time (CJEU, 9 March 2021, C-344/19 and C-580/19). Service and maintenance have no shortening to ten hours under section 5(2) ArbZG.

May service technicians work on Sundays?

For maintaining business equipment where the regular running of one's own or another business depends on it (section 10(1) no. 14 ArbZG). Every Sunday worked brings a replacement rest day within two weeks.
