Send us a messageAre twelve-hour shifts allowed in security services?
Only with a rule under section 7 ArbZG, for example a collective agreement providing for a considerable amount of standby time. Without one, the limit of ten hours a day applies (section 3 ArbZG). The template therefore always flags longer shifts.
What applies to night duties?
Night work is work with more than two hours between 11 pm and 6 am. For night workers the average of eight hours has to be reached within a calendar month or four weeks, plus health checks and a premium or days off (section 6 ArbZG).
Does working time have to be recorded in the security trade?
Yes. The security trade is listed in section 2a SchwarzArbG. The start, end and duration of daily working time of all employees have to be recorded by the end of the seventh calendar day and kept for two years (section 17 MiLoG).
